Santa Ana is known for its historically important buildings and structures along with many museums.
Old courthouse museum is considered as the oldest court building and has witnessed the most popular events which were responsible for present picture of Santa Ana. It is situated in Southern California, in a court house building which is made up of granite and sandstone.
The museum is housed in 30,000 square foot and maintained in a way to look like the court of nineteenth century. The courtrooms and judge’s chamber remain open for the visitors. It exhibits the art and artifacts of native Californian and a range of collections from Mexico, Central and South America. It features California Legacies which illustrate the history of the people who occupied the west and California.
It offers the Orange County History Center which features the Orange County Archives and the library of the Pacific Coast Archaeological Society and many government offices.
The museum also offers a guided tour on Tuesdays from 10 am to 2 pm. It remains open on Monday to Friday from 9.00 – 5.00.
